Volunteer to Fight Hunger in North Alabama
Join the Movement: Volunteer to Help Feed North Alabama
Last year The Food Bank of North Alabama was able to distribute over 15 million pounds of food. This amazing feat was made possible thanks to the work of volunteers helping us inspect, sort, and pack food. Their efforts help the food bank distribute food to partner agencies who then give the food out to people in the community. We cannot do what we do without the tireless help from our incredible volunteers.
Volunteer shifts are fast-paced, active, and fun! When you volunteer with the food bank, you will be a vital part of feeding families across North Alabama. All volunteers must be 16 or older, wear closed toe shoes, and be prepared to participate in a collaborative manner with others. If you have any lifting restrictions or injuries, please alert the volunteer manager so we can assess if volunteering in the warehouse is right for you.
We also have mobile pantry opportunities for those seeking to work with the public and administrative opportunities to help the front desk. If this interests you, please email the volunteer manager to learn more.
Our current volunteer schedule is:
Tuesday to Thursday 9:00-11:30am & 1:00-3:00pm
We are located at 225 SW Finney Dr in Huntsville.
Individual volunteers can schedule their shift by clicking the “VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION” button below. If you are scheduling a shift for a group of volunteers, please contact the volunteer manager to ensure we have room to accommodate your group. Thank you!
